Alamut Trekking
Alamut Trekking Alamut is situated in the south face of Alborz Mountain Range ,surrounded by the plain of Qazvin in the south and the densely forested slopes of Mazandaran province in the north.Moving from Qazvin to Alamut, you pass through hills and curvatures that are the significant themes of this spectacular area’s natural composition. Two great castles of the Ismailites, Lambsar and Alamut, along with Meymun Diz and Nevizar Shah Castles are amongst the wonders of this area, belonging to Hassan-e -Sabbah and his cult of the Assassins who ruled this area for over two centuries. The ancient Castle of Alamut has been described by Marco Polo, and that’s one of the reasons why it has always been attracting lots of tourists from all around the world. On your journey toward the beautiful Lake of Evan, at the height of 3710m, you cross the country of Pichebon, at the height of 2800 m. Then you will reach Marran region in the heights of Alborz. Moving to the north from Alamut Valley for two or three days, you reach the coastal line of the Caspian Sea, through the col of 3000.This marks the end of your trip during which you can enjoy the eye-catching beauties of both the north and the south of Alborz Mountain Range. It must be of interest to the trekkers of Alamut Valley to know that Takht-e-Soleiman, leading off to Alamut Valley, has been amongst the mountainous regions with peaks of over 4000 meters of height on the ridge of Alborz Mountain Range, such as Damavand and Azad Kouh, on top of which special sentry towers were built to communicate and give signals using fire in ancient Iran.
