Iran Mountaineering | Trekking Sabalan

Mount Sabalan, the third highest mountain in Iran, 4811- meter, an inactive stratovolcano in the northeast of Alborz mountain range and Ardabil Province of northwestern Iran. Sabalan Lake, near 12,000 sq.m, at the top of the mountain almost covered with snow through the year, but from May to July, it melts and creates a beautiful scenery. Moreover, from spring to autumn, Shahsavand Nomad live near the mountain that enhances its beauty. In this climbing program, you are going to ascend Mount Sabalan from the northeast (Ghotor soei), and southwest (Moeil) face, a quiet path with eco-touristic parameters and an advanced camp. On this path, you can see the unique vegetation of Alborz mountain ranges, along with its mild mountainous climate, while enjoying the spectacular sceneries of Alborz highlands. You have whatever it takes to have a memorable climb.

Itinerary

1st Day
Tehran -Tehran

Arrival at IKA International Airport, meet and greet and transfer to the hotel, early check in and rest .Visiting some highlights of Tehran including National Museum of Iran (Iran’s mother museum), The museum containing prestigious relics influential in shaping the world’s culture and civilization. (Closed on holy memorial ceremonies.) Golestan Palace (The Rose Garden Palace) one of the oldest historic monuments) belonging to a group of royal buildings in Tehran, UNESCO World Heritage. visiting traditional Bazaar (closed on Fridays and Thursdays afternoon) O/N Tehran (Hotel –B-L)
2nd Day
Tehran –Ardabil-Mount Sabalan Shelter

Flight to Ardabil, drive towards Mount Sabalan Shelter, which is located at the highest altitude, acclimatization, return to camp(Shelter -B-Lunch Box-D) (Base Camp B-L-D)
3rd Day
Sabalan Shelter- Sabalan Peak- Sabalan Shelter

Heading to Sabalan Peak -large dormant volcano- (4811) which is one of the popular symbols of Azerbayejan and one of the famous mountaineering destinations. Return to the refuge and taking rest, O/N Shelter (Shelter -B-Lunch Box-D)
4th Day
Sabalan Shelter-Shahsavan Nomad(Camp)
After breakfast, heading for an exciting safari, passing the foothills of Sabalan to visit Shahsavan tribes, the symbol of bravery and resistance, full day visiting Shahsavan Nomad, Getting to know their lifestyle, their way of cooking, knitting and ….O/N (Tent B-Lunch Box-D)
5th Day
Shahsavan Nomad (Camp) – Sareyn
Head to Sareyn, swim in Hot spring and then go and stay in hotel, O/N (Hotel-BB)
6th Day
Sareyn- Ardabil- Tehran

Drive to Adrabil and visit some highlights such as Sheikh Safi al-din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble, and Tabriz Historic Bazaar Complex, Flight to Tehran, End of the Tour

The needed documents are: a completed visa application form (please Click here to fill the application form),
the copy of your passport; and also the scan of your former visa if you have traveled to Iran before .
