Iran showcasing tourist attractions at Berlin’s ITB fair

Iranian representatives of tourism agencies and travel agencies highlight the tourist attractions of their country in Berlin’s ITB tourism exhibition, which was officially inaugurated on Tuesday evening.

According to the UNWTO secretary-general, Iran has “enormous tourism potential”.
Speaking to IRNA in Berlin on Tuesday, Rifai said: ‘I must say Iran has a tremendous potential as a country.’
Iran has “the ability to become an important destination, but it must be the political will to turn tourism into a part of the country’s future,” added Rifai, who returned from a two-day visit to Iran last week.
As one of the oldest civilizations in the world, the ancient cultural and religious sites of Iran are a potential tourist magnet, as Rifai noted.
There are a number of “quite positive signs”, as we see the willingness of Iran to open the country for tourism. We see concrete measures such as the relaxation of the Visumpflicht, added the UNWTO boss.
About 10,00 travel groups from over 180 countries have registered to participate in the trade fair, which experts say is the world’s largest and most important exhibition.
The high-caliber exhibition is expected to be around 160,000 guests, including 110,000 travel and tourism experts.
